We are OBSESSED with STRIPES! Our Squiggles are often paired with dynamic stripped toppers, which compliment the organic shape of the Squiggles. All of my stripes are constructed from polymer clay canes, which are sliced and made into striped slabs. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me "how do you get your stripes so straight?", I would be smiling! But the answer is simple.... PRACTICE! Checkout my Instagram to watch this process.
At Electric Leo, VIBRANT COLOURS are 100 percent our jam. Bright pinks, fluorescent green, sunshine yellow and electric blue are just a few of our iconic colours. ALL of these colours are my own special recipes. I spend a great deal of time mixing colours and then curing them to ensure that they are exactly what I want. Taking the time to develop these colour mixes, ensures that I'm able to make the same colour every time. No winging it here!
All of my earrings are handmade in my Brisbane studio. I work primarily with Sculpey polymer clay. I find this clay to be incredibly lightweight and strong. I also love to work with resin. Many of my handmade earrings feature doming. This process gives polymer clay a beautiful glossy, rounded finish on the surface. It's taken me many years to develop my resin work skills, as it's a highly challenging medium to master. I'm constantly learning.
Over the years, I have made and sold thousands of pairs of Squiggles. We have shipped Squiggles extensively throughout Australia and all around the world. To make Squiggles, I use a Lucy Clay Machine to make coloured extrusions. Then my hands do the rest of the work. I'm pretty sure that I could make them blind folded now. My hands know exactly what to do. This design is heart and soul of my business. I love how they go with all the fun prints in my wardrobe!
